Welcome to Seven Seas Beach!
Upon your arrival at Seven Seas Beach, your party is greeted by your Pure Adventure guide a Marine Biologist. (either Carlos or Yolanda or Javier) After a brief orientation on Kayaking/Snorkeling safety procedures and care and preservation of the environments, the adventure begins with a short kayak to our first beach where adventurers can take in the astounding beauty of the “Bahia Las Cabezas” (Headlands Bay). To the east are the bluffs of the “Las Cabezas de San Juan” Nature Reserve, with the historic “Cabo San Juan” Lighthouse overlooking the Bay. To the South, you’ll see the looming mountains of the world famous “El Yunque” Rainforest. To the West, the point called “Cabeza Chiquita”.
First Snorkel / Beach Stop
At this first stop, adventurers can stroll the pristine beach and tidal shallows, while we prepare and outfit our first snorkeling dive. This snorkel is in fairly shallow waters to allow guests to get use to the equipment and practice diving.
Second Snorkel
And then we kayak to another more challenging snorkel spot where the colors of the underwater-world will amaze, as our snorkelers vie for who can spot the many different species of sea life.
Hidden Beach Picnic
By now you’ve worked up an appetite and our guide will direct your party to a secret, hidden beach next to “Cabeza Chiquita” point. Sandwiches, local in-season fruits and Puerto Rican sweets will be served along with bottled water.
Black Water Lagoon
Next, Kayakers are directed to a canal opening that leads to the “Laguna Aguas Prietas” (Black Water Lagoon) a wildlife sanctuary teeming with sea birds, iguanas, turtles, crabs, and innumerable species of fish and sea-life. As you glide among the Mangroves, exploring little inlets and coves, the ever-present mountains of “El Yunque” Rainforest provide a dramatic backdrop to the solitary peace of the Lagoon.
Third Beach Stop / Paddle Home
After the Lagoon tour, Kayaks are beached and everyone fords the peninsula by a short walk through an opening that leads back to the western shore of Seven Seas beach. Then kayaks are launched and back we paddle home to the original launch site.
3 in 1 Adventurers will arrive possibly weary, but satisfied with the knowledge that they have experienced the natural beauty and tropical wildlife that few visitors to Puerto Rico see.
